Alternative silencers
To solve low-frequency problems, the IBP developed resonance
silencers with a high attenuation and load, constructed without any porous
material.

Computation of Absorptive Silencers
Calculation methods for the dimensioning of silencers can be
processed on the PC by means of CompAS (Computation of Absorptive Silencers), a
program developed by the IBP.

Acoustic analysis of ventilation systems
Components of ventilation and air-conditioning systems
were analyzed for acoustic effects and interactions at low frequencies in this
project. A PC program was developed to be operated under Windows95 and higher.
The program is apt to dimension new plants and to analyze existing plants at
low frequencies with a high frequency resolution.

Active silencers and absorbers
In comparison to the well-known principle of sound
resolution by the interference of opposite-phase pressure waves, frequently
known as anti-sound, actively absorptive silencers are an innovative principle
of active noise reduction in sound channels.
Requirements for the acoustic quality in small rooms such as studios,
conference rooms or special rooms for acoustic measurements, being permanently
minimized for economical reasons, remain unchangeably high so that the
effective conditioning of such rooms is an actual as well as practice-relevant
task.

Acoustic measuring instruments for development
and quality assurance By using CAD measuring
systems, numerous acoustic measurements have become time and cost-saving. This
applies for laboratory testing in research and development as well as for the
quality control of acoustic material or product properties.

Acoustic
leak detection Experience with the generation of
noise in outlet valves, the wave propagation in pipes and progressive signal
analysis resulted in an innovative concept of leak detection, improving and
replacing the traditional methods (with hearing rod, auscultation tube,
geophone).
